Take online courses, meet requirements, earn SCECHs and more
Michigan LearnPort offers online learning solutions for Michigan school employees, certified teachers, administrators and others associated with education in Michigan, including the professional organizations and their employees who serve K-12 education.
Michigan LearnPort invites Michigan's K-12 community to access high-quality online courses and resources, meet professional development requirements, earn State Continuing Education Clock Hours (formerly SB-CEUs) and more.
This professional development portal, developed through a public-private partnership between the Michigan Department of Education and Michigan Virtual University, offers anywhere, anytime learning to all Michigan educators.
Currently, Michigan LearnPort offers more than 280 high-quality online courses ranging from “Bloodborne Pathogen for Schools” to “Inquiry Science in the Elementary Classroom.” Over 70 courses are available for SCECHs, with more added monthly. Many courses are no cost or low cost, offering educators the chance to explore online learning.
You can view the Course Catalog by going to the Michigan LearnPort portal, logging in and clicking on “Course Catalog.”
Some features enable Michigan teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals and others associated with K-12 education to manage and track their own online learning. Free access to the award-winning netTrekker d.i. search tool helps users find websites aligned with Michigan State Standards, student-friendly images and resources arranged by grade and/or student reading levels.
Michigan LearnPort features include:
- Registration System – Our registration system is a great solution for all your meeting, conference, tradeshow or classroom needs.
- Collaboration Spaces – Collaboration Spaces are part of our Collaboration Center. You can use Collaboration Spaces to team up with others using a variety of communication tools.
- Reporting – Use this feature to transfer custom reports from your local environment to the server. Management functions are available to hide, display or apply permissions to uploaded reports.
